LOURDES - TARBES airport
The closet airport is Lourdes -Tarbes.
But still, Lourdes is 50 km from Barèges.
It is a small airport with connections mainly to Paris by Air-France,
but Thomas Cook Airlines
have a line between Bruxelles and Lourdes.
There are also special charters for pilgrims.
To reach Barèges you will have to go to Lourdes railway station which is 10km away from the airport.
Unfortunately there is no shuttle to get to the station, so you will need to take a taxi.
Since we expect many people landing at Lourdes, we will arrange some rides to the station.
Please let the organization know about your arrival date and time.

PAU - PYRENEES airport
Pau - Pyrénées airport is 55 km away from Lourdes but it is possible to get to Lourdes by bus. Several companies have connections to Pau: Air-France from Paris, Ryanair from London Stanted (plus a connexion to the Pau train station) and Transavia from Amsterdam. Unless you are flying Ryanair and to get to the Pau train station you will have to take a taxi (about 20 euros). Again if many people intent to land at Pau we can organize a ride to Barèges. Just let us know.

TOULOUSE airport
TOULOUSE airport is wide and deserves mainy european cities but is 170km away from Lourdes. You will have to take a shuttle to the railway station (4 euro) and then a train to Lourdes.

CARCASSONNE and BIARITZ airports
These two airports are connected by Ryanair to many european cities like, Dublin, Shannon, London, Frankfurt, Liverpool and Bruxelles. Biarritz is 170 km from Lourdes and Carcasonne 260k . Note that the bus to Barcelona on Sunday 10th will make a stop at Carcassone to visit the city. There are shuttles at Carcassonne airport to railway station connected to all the Ryanair flights. Here you can take a train to Lourdes:

BARCELONA
For people who go to Meteorids in Barcelona it could be easier to buy a return ticket for Barcelona. But is not easy to connect with Barèges, it is a 10 hours trip, here are the train possibilities:

The first proposition is a really nice touristic travel as you cross Pyrénées quite in the middle, you will envoy La Tour de Carol international railway station with 3 differents rail widths and an helicoidal tunnel. By car it is 6 hours to reach Barèges.
Lourdes railway station
Lourdes is well connected by train, especially by the high speed train TGV from Paris.
There are also night trains coming from Paris and Geneva.

Lourdes - Barèges by bus
There is a bus from Lourdes railway station to Barèges:
08:12 - 09:17 (connection with the night train)

It is best to take the highway A10 (Paris-Orleans-Limoges-Brives-Toulouse) it is faster and cheaper. After take the highway A64 from Toulouse to Lourdes. In Lourdes follow the direction "Argeles - Gavarnie" Make a right at "Luz St Sauveur" nd follow the signs "Barèges - Pic du Midi". Then it is easy to find Barèges.
In fact there is no choise, you have to go to Lourdes. Do not follow your GPS indications telling you to pass by the Tourmalet: though it is a famous spot for the "Tour de France", it is actually a waste of time.

Barèges is a little village with almost one street. So it is quite easy to reach l'Hospitalet. In any case you will arrive by the bottom of the village coming from Luz St Sauveur and Lourdes. If you come by bus you will arrive at the center of the village in front of the cinema. Just go up by the main road and make a right right before the baths. If you are walking it will take you no more than a few minutes to get there. There is a parking on the street just behind l'Hospitalet called "promenade horizontale". Please note that it is forbiden to park close to l'Hospitalet
