Armagh
Armagh is a historic and pretty market town of about 15000 inhabitants. The first settlements date back to 7000 years ago! It is home to two cathedrals, an observatory (whose research heritage includes a longstanding association with meteor science), a planetarium, and a large number of pubs.

Lecture venue: Market Place Theatre

The scientific lectures will be held in the Market Place Theatre in the heart of Armagh (capacity: 120 seats). We will also enjoy lunch (friday+saturday) and dinner (friday) in this new venue, which recently hosted the 2009 Light Pollution Symposium. The lectures cannot take place inside Armagh Observatory because there is no meeting room for 100 people, but we will visit the Observatory as part of the excursion on saturday!

Social venue: Youth Hostel

Social evening activities, as well as registration and welcome dinner, will take place in the Armagh City Youth Hostel, which is only 300 meter away from the lecture venue. Up to 62 participants will also be able to sleep in the Youth Hostel. Other participants can be accommodated in bed&breakfasts (within 10-15 minutes walking), or in one of the nearby hotels (at a higher price).
