On Thursday 26, 12:24 p.m. EDT (16h 24min UT), a daylight fireball was widely observed (more than 200 reports so far for Event #3455-2025) and video recorded over Southeastern USA (Florida, Alabama, North & South Carolina, Tennessee). A few hours after first reports came out, first meteorites were recovered near Blacksville (Georgia, USA).

A bright daylight fireball observed over Southeastern US

It was bright daylight and clear weather on Thursday, June 26, 2025,  12:24 p.m. EDT (16h 24min UT), when a very bright and fast fireball was clearly observed in the Southeastern USA skies. Many dashcams and visual reporters recorded the event: Event #3455-2025 gathered more than 200 reports (Figure 1), some of them being accompanied with videos (see below) and pictures.

From analysis of radar data, meteorological satellites (like GOES-19, see below), visual reports and videos, it looks like potential meteorites could have landed South-East of Atlanta (Figure 1).

Meteorites recovered few hours after meteor sighting

A few hours after, reports were made of a meteorite fall through the roof of a house in Southwestern quarters of Blacksville (Georgia, US). Some meteorites hunter also show meteorites recoveries (Figure 2a- and 2b) on social networks, just before the zone was under a downpour!
