Croatia is eurpoean country on
the west side of the Adriatic sea. It can be very roughly divided in three
parts: the northen plains, the mountaneous Lika and Gorski kotar in the middle
and the coastal area to the south and south-east.
The conference takes place in Poreč, a medium size town located
on the adriatic coast of Istria peninsula
which is the northest coastal region of Croatia, bordering with Slovenia to the
North and Italy on the sea. Istria is a very nice part of land, being
inhabitated from the Neolythic on, and is full of cultural monuments of all
ages.
September in Istria is warm and nice, the summer
heat is gone, but still warm enough to wear short sleves and enjoy swimming in the
adriatic sea. The landscape is also very nice, with many mediveal small towns,
villages, woods and plains suitable for all kinds of leisure activities.
