A first fireball on June 24th, 07h 55min UT…

At the end of the night, while twilight, on June 24th, 2025, 07h 55min UT (03h 55min EDT) a very bright meteor was observed, video recorded (see below), and reported by at least 30 persons (Event #3406-2025, Figure 3) and recorded by 5 DOMe (Detection and Observation of Meteors) and 5 GMN (Global Meteor Network) video stations (Figures 1 & 2). Calulated trajectory shows it had a South-West to North-East direction, starting North of Cornwall, and then passing just over Montreal in direction of Centre-du-Quebec.

…and a potential meteorites strewn field.

Denis Vida (University of Western Ontario) and his team used DOMe and GMN recordings of the fireball to calculate the theoritical meteorites strewn field (Figure 4). Several small sized meteorites (1 to 10 g) could be spread 1 km over the 8th row road, between Saint-Wenceslas and Lemieux (around which new calculations seems to narrow the strewn field). More massive fragments weighting up to 100 g could also have survived the atmospheric entry.

A second fireball on July 10th, 01h 43min UT…

Another dramatic fireball was observed and recorded by 3 DOMe cameras and 4 GMN video stations (Figure 5) a bit more than two weeks after, on July 10th, 2025, evening, at 01h 43min UT (21h 43min EDT on July 9th). A bit South of the previous one, it was also reported by 15 people (Figure 6, Event #3845-2025).

…and another potential meteorites strewn field!

Denis Vida (University of Western Ontario) and his team used DOMe and GMN recordings of the fireball to calculate the theoritical meteorites strewn field, which extends West of Lac-Brome (Figure 7).
