We proudly present the 3rd 'Radio Meteor School 2006',
a three-day tutorial (Roden NL, September 11 - 13) in which several astronomers working
in the field of meteor-astronomy from all over the world, will give lectures on the physical
and mathematical theory of radio meteor observations. This Radio Meteor School is a follow-up
from the 2nd Radio Meteor School held in Oostmalle last year.
Practical information
The Radio Meteor School will start on Monday, September 11 (at 10:00 local time, which is 8:00 UT), and end on Wednesday, September 13 (in the evening). The participation fee is about 120 Euro per person, to be paid upon arrival. Please note that this includes the Radio Meteor School Proceedings, full lodging and meals from Monday (September 11) morning till Thursday (September 14) morning, and that the IMC starts at Thursday (September 14) evening. For every additional night at the conference center, you should pay 15 Euro extra. For instance, if you arrive during the afternoon on Sunday, September 10, you should pay 15 Euro extra for lodging on Sunday night.
The place to be is "Groepsaccommodatie De Hullen", Hullenweg 6, Roden, The Netherlands. You will find travel and other information on http://www.imo.net/imc2006. Unfortunately, we can't enter the conference center before 20:00 local time on Sunday September 10, so perhaps you can have a look at the beautiful city of Groningen first. If you arrive by train or plane, and would like some transport to the conference center, please contact imc2006@imo.net. (if you haven't done so already). If there is any problem while getting to The Netherlands, please call Marc Neijts on +31 613 63 41 47 or Frans Lowiessen on +31 625 06 15 14.
Participants
The following 12 people will participate in the Radio Meteor School:
Frans De Keyzer (the Netherlands)
Frans Lowiessen (the Netherlands)
Antonio Martínez Picar (Venezuela)
Marc Neijts (the Netherlands)
Jean-Louis Rault (France)
Galina Ryabova (Russia)
Juan Martín Semegone (Argentina)
Vladimir Slusarenko (Ukraine)
Svetlana Suleymanova (Germany)
Cis Verbeeck (Belgium)
Jean-Marc Wislez (Belgium)
Pavol zigo (Slovakia)
Program
Below, you will find the preliminary program. Some things might still change if necessary.
The general concept is that the lecturers will present their lectures, and there will be a lot of time for questions. We will regularly take some time to study and discuss the past lectures together, to ask and answer questions about them, and to write reports on these lectures. These reports will be the basis of the Radio Meteor School Proceedings. We are convinced that a lot of useful discussions and ideas will pop up independently of these lectures too, just as they did last year.

4) Please note...
If you are presenting a lecture at the Radio Meteor School or IMC, please bring a (preferably electronic) paper or text in English about your lecture if possible. This would help us a lot in putting together Proceedings for the Radio Meteor School and IMC. All kinds of text documents are welcome, but we prefer plain ASCII LaTeX files above other formats. If you will present a lecture at the Radio Meteor School, you can help us a lot by sending your (preliminary) lecture text by e-mail to jmw@pandora.be and cis.verbeeck@scarlet.be as soon as possible!
During the Radio Meteor School, Jean-Marc Wislez and I will bring all radio meteor publications we have gathered (about 600 interesting papers). You can use this opportunity to scan or copy papers out of this collection. Information about which papers are in our collection can be found in the Ramses Literature Database. We advise you to take advantage of this opportunity.
We would like all participants to prepare a short oral personal presentation to be presented on the first day. Just one to five minutes introducing yourself to get to know each other better and to learn about each other's interests and experience. For instance, you can talk about the meteor work you have worked on or are working on now, and point out what are your main topics of interest in radio meteor work.
I look forward to meeting you all at the Radio Meteor School. Bon voyage!
Best wishes,
for the Radio Meteor School 2006 team,
Cis Verbeeck
