This animation shows 18 bright Quadrantids recorded with our video system MOVIE near Hannover (Germany) on January 3/4, 1995. All single meteor frames recorded during approximately 3 hours of observation have were digitized, processed and finally converted into a sequence. The appearance time of the meteors in the sequence was choosen randomly, we never really observed a meteor cluster as shown in the animation.
All well known meteor shower properties like radiant effects, different meteor velocities and trail lengths are easy to recognize.
